The Uplyft Film Festival (UpFF) will take over the historic Esperson Building on August 17, 2024, promising an unforgettable blend of film, philanthropy, and community engagement. UpFF is dedicated to sharing impactful, often unheard narratives, with the goal of inspiring empathy, reflection, and dialogue. This transformative event in Houston will highlight community, sustainability, and growth by fostering strong partnerships with global filmmakers and local charitable organizations.

Short Film Showcase:

The Uplyft Film Festival will feature breathtaking storytelling at its core, showcasing works from first-time filmmakers to seasoned veterans. These films, originating from diverse walks of life, unite for various causes, highlighting the talents of global citizens. Storytelling manifests in many forms, and we are excited for you to experience and perhaps see your own story on screen.

Art Showcase:

Storytelling will extend beyond the screen, engaging the arts in all mediums. We are excited to host a pop-up art show at ELC Fine Art Gallery, featuring artists from the community, from emerging talents to mid-career creators. Each piece carries its own story and emotion, with styles ranging from modern to mixed media and beyond.

Jam Session:

Do you love live music? Ever heard the Star Wars musical score? Are you a musician itching to play? If you love music, you’re in luck! During the Uplyft Film Festival, we’ll host our annual jam session. Get ready to rock out and enjoy performances from emerging acts. It’s a great chance to network and engage with local musicians, sparking a revival of funk!

Non-Profit Alley/Vendor Pop-Up:

The stars of the show are the non-profits. We’ve curated a group of non-profits eager to be seen in a new light, and their stories are at the heart of the film festival. This is where they can showcase who they are and what they do for the community. You’ll have the chance to hear their stories and share yours. We want to create a space for meaningful connections. With over 15,000 sq ft of non-profits and vendor space, it’s the perfect setting.

6th Rooftop Fun in the Sun:

Have you ever played outside in the sun? Weather permitting, we will have a rooftop filled with fun activities. This is an adult playground like no other, featuring vendor tables and a variety of fun items. Get ready for some creative and playful games that will transport you back to your childhood. A little fun in the sun never hurt anybody, so come prepared to enjoy and let loose on our unique rooftop playground!

What to Expect @ the Esperson:

• Exclusive film screenings, including films connected with charitable organizations.
• Panel discussions and Q&A sessions with filmmakers and charity representatives.
• Networking opportunities with industry professionals and fellow attendees.
• 18 and up for entry. We will be checking IDs.
