Event Description:
Join us for an insightful workshop led by Daniel Pocock, as he shares his journey of rebuilding his fire-damaged Irish home with a focus on net-zero energy standards. Discover how cost savings, reduced emissions, and sustainable practices can enhance comfort, safety, and overall quality of life.
Daniel will dive into the complexities of evaluating certification systems, choosing the right products and contractors, securing financing, and navigating unexpected encounters—like his meeting with Ireland’s Minister for Climate.
But the conversation doesn’t stop at individual home projects. Daniel will also explore how retrofitting homes fits into the larger social context, addressing challenges like housing affordability, homelessness, and the reconstruction of thousands of homes affected by defective concrete blocks in Donegal and Mayo.
Whether you’re planning a new build or considering a remodeling project, this workshop is your chance to gain valuable insights, understand potential risks, and learn how to achieve similar sustainable goals. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to build for a better future.
